Gaylord Catering Service History

Gaylord Catering Service, Inc. was established in 1963 by Gaylord Matti. At the time, catering was not a widely used service in the Madison area. The business blossomed and in 1972 Mr. Matti built his dream kitchen on Atlas Avenue. Gaylord Catering is still located on Atlas Avenue today.

Most of our food is made from scratch on premise. We receive several food and supply deliveries per week which allows us flexibility to handle events on short notice and to provide the freshest ingredients. Many of the ingredients we use are locally produced. We have become part of the green movement by introducing biodegradable dishes and silverware for our drop off service. Presently, Gaylord Catering Service continues to enjoy a steady growth. This is due to the efforts of our entire staff. Through these efforts, we have become Madison’s and Southern Wisconsin’s oldest and most reputable caterer. We have won several Best of Madison Awards. In 2008, we were voted gold Best of Madison by Madison Magazine. We have won an award from Madison Magazine every year since then.

Gaylord Catering Service provides full service catering and corporate catering. We offer selections for breakfast, lunch, dinner, receptions, picnics, hors d'oeuvres and much more. Our professional staff will meet all of your needs and provide flawless service for your event; whether it is a delivered lunch or dinner, a casual picnic, a formal sit down dinner or reception, or an elegant hors d’oeuvre party.

We’ve traveled as far as Prairie du Chien and Green Bay for our clients. We can meet the needs of parties of 15 people and up. In addition to food, we can also accommodate your beverage needs.
